Pre-construction critiquing of design plans is vital
!
 | Evaluate the plan |
 | Making the plan work for your life style |
 | Many of the design “errors” can be caught in the Drawing Stage before it
gets to the Building Stage which will cost a lot of money to change at that
point. |
 | All finished materials like moldings and tile might not have been
selected when the drawings were started. Not knowing all the finished
materials to be used when the plans were first drawn, might result in you
having to compromise your vision to what will “fit”, because it wasn’t
thought out to this degree when the plans were originally drawn. |
 | Having a critique of your plans before the finial plans are drawn can
save you a lot of money and you are getting your vision, your not having to
compromise at the eleventh hour. |
A small sample of simple changes during a critique might be the following:
 | Are the there structural problems that you are not seeing, like windows
too close to a corner to be able to handle the molding sizes you have
planned on? |
 | Are the doors opening in the wrong direction? |
 | Can you reach the windows to open them with the style of window that has
been specified if you’re reaching over a 24” base cabinet in the kitchen, or
if you have a piece of furniture in front of a window? |
A critiquing of your plan can save disappointments at the end of your
project.
